Start with a faction in mind — a family, a temple, a merchant house, a
knightly order. Name it, choose its type, and pick a size die —
2d4, 2d6, 2d8, or 2d10, by how big it
should be. Rolling the size fills the roster below with that many people (the die's sum),
each one rolled up in turn.
Nothing here is precious. Every roll can be spun again, and cards are
drawn one at a time — draw a candidate, vet it, and place it in the next free
slot only if you like it — so if a member doesn't make sense — a temple with no elders, a
soldier too young to have seen war — you redo that one thing rather than starting over.
Reroll a single stat, generate a whole member or the whole faction, or add and remove people
by hand.
